Lunch at Chili’s the other day gave me a chance to try one of their new menu items, the Grilled Shrimp Tacos. Wrapped in a flour tortilla, these tacos were filled with grilled shrimp, avocado, topped with fresh cilantro lime slaw and house-made pico de gallo. The shrimp had been grilled in a spicy chili-lime sauce which wasn’t over the top spicy. They came three to an order and were served with rice and black beans. I must say these tacos were very good and should be a must on your lunch list when out doing your holiday shopping.
My husband had the California Club Toasted Sandwich, a combination of turkey, ham, applewood smoked bacon, avocado, Swiss, tomatoes, onions, lettuce and seasoned mayo on wheat Texas toast. Whew, this had everything but the kitchen on it. Of course it was served with a side of home-style fries. Job well done Chili’s!
Of course we both started the meal with a cup of Chili’s famous Chicken Enchilada Soup. If you have never had this soup, you must try it. It tastes just like enchiladas only it is soup, very creamy and topped with cheese and fried corn tortilla strips. This is a great soup for warming you up in the cooler temperatures. My only complaint is that the cups are way too small.
Chili’s offers a wide selection of party platters for your holiday parties and they offer on-line ordering for your take-out orders and your parties.
A heads up to the Chili’s Happy Hour too! They have great Happy Hour specials on drinks and appetizers during all professional football games. So it is a good place to get your game on!
The location I visited for this review was Chili’s at the Summit.
