On Thursday, Dec. 1st, at precisely 6 p.m., Houston Street will come to life with so much festivity that Scrooge himself couldn’t dampen the fun!
For the second year in a row, Bohanan’s proudly presents Holidays on Houston Street, a spectacle of decorations, lights, food and art that will make even those North Pole residents jealous.
The fun kicks off with an unveiling of the Holiday Window that Jill Giles designed for the SACVB. Featuring San Antonio-themed piñatas, luminarias, and the iconic River Walk lights, this 19 by 13 foot studio display was featured on Good Morning America in 2009 as a representation of San Antonio history, culture, and holiday spirit.
Guests will continue to be dazzled when the switch is thrown on over 24,000 LED lights along Houston Street. This majestic scene is made even more spectacular by Bohanan’s courtyard, featuring a 16 foot tall tree adorned with approximately 165 twinkling ornaments—all crafted by the talented young artists of SAY Sí. As a non-profit multidisciplinary arts program, SAY Sí provides students with opportunities to develop artistic and social skills in preparation for higher educational advancement and professional careers.
Bohanan’s is proud to support these students’ efforts by donating a portion of proceeds from a sampling of the 12 Cocktails of Christmas specialty drinks, that guests can enjoy as they snack on Bohanan’s festive fare.
And, since no party is complete without a souvenir, local “Cocktails on Canvas” artist Louis Vega Trevino will be on hand creating ornaments and painting snowflake cocktail napkins for purchase. Pick up a few for yourself and all those people who made your “nice” list.
All you need to take part in this magical holiday happening is to spread a little holiday cheer by bringing an unwrapped present that will be given to a child at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital.
Bohanan’s Prime Steaks & Seafood is located in the Heart of Historic downtown San Antonio at 219 East Houston Street, 2nd Floor. Please note that we have a private elevator available to our guests in the Houston Street Courtyard. Valet service is also available for Lunch & Dinner. Telephone: 210-472-2600; Catering: 210-885-0538. http://www.bohanans.com.
