Those wonderful Hatch chiies from New Mexico are ripe on the vine and being served up in huge amounts to Chuy’s patrons. If you have never been to Chuy’s, you should really consider going during their Green Chile Festival.
This year they are serving up dishes such as the Super Strength Sopapilla, Bang Pow Enchiladas and Bongo Empanadas. In all, they will be introducing a menu of ten green chile-inspired dishes during the three-week festival. To cool down the palate, Chuy’s will feature two brand new drinks: Frozen White Peach Sangria and The Pricilla, our take on the skinny margarita.
Word is out that The Amazing Super Pepper, a hero from Chuy’s green Chile fields, who transforms otherwise uninteresting dishes with a blast from his spicy heat ray could be seen at this year’s festival. Get ready to be treated to giveaways, such as Super Pepper sticker sheets, seed sticks to grow your own chiles at home and a commemorative button. A limited edition Green Chile Festival T-shirt and Super Pepper kid’s cape will also be available for purchase.

We tried this for the first time about a week ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great chile flavors. My relleno was crisp outside, tender inside, and Bruce’s enchiladas were served New Mexican-style (flat instead of rolled). We plan to return!
