Pecan Crispies

I first learned to bake using this recipe. I used to make these cookies at least once a month when I was a little girl. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
½ cup shortening
½ cup butter
2 ½ cups brown sugar
2 beaten eggs
2 ½ cups flour
¼ tsp. salt
½ tsp. soda
1 cup chopped pecans
Thoroughly cream shortenings and sugar; add eggs and beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients, then nut meats. Drop from teaspoon, about 2 inches apart, onto greased cookie sheet. Bake in moderate oven (350) 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 5 dozen cookies.
