In My Opinion By JFraser:
The Bagel Factory in San Antonio, TX – Having moved from Long Island to San Antonio four years ago, one of the only things that I was missing was a REAL NY BAGEL (when I first moved here, I was told to forget about bagels and start eating breakfast tacos).  Well , no more compromises for me.  These bagels are steamed, not baked and considering the difference in water, they are just what I remember.  I found the Bagel Factory products to be fresh, tasty and crispsy/chewey exactly where they are supposed to be.  They also sell a variety of breakfasts and lunches, all of course, built around their bagels.  They aren’t at the point yet where they sell “nova” (lox) or white fish salad by weight (like a 1/4 pound) but hopefully they’ll get there.  In the meantime, the Bagel Factory has replaced all other pseudo-bagel providers around town. I hope that they stay in business (and also expand their menu).
