Great News!
Flicks and Food launched at the beginning of March 2009 and the response has been overwhelming. We’re keeping the contests going and its our way of saying, “Thank you!” We’re teaming up with businesses and holding these contests as a way to give back to our Flicks and Food community.
Win $25 Gift Card to any of Eddie V’s Restaurants:
This contest will run from Aug 27-Aug 31, 2009 and ends midnight.
We’ve teamed up with Eddie V, as a way for us to keep this going and say “Thank you.” We’re giving away a $25 gift card to the person who’s name will be drawn randomly and we’ll capture it via screencast or video. Everyone is welcome to participate. Simply follow the rules below. Thank you.
How to win a $25 gift card?
• Good for these locations: (Eddie V, Roaring Fork, or Wildfish Seafood Grille), and briefy explain why you want it.
• One entry per person. Duplicate comments will be voided and DO NOT leave reply comments.
• Winners will be contacted by Twitter and/or email.
Comment entries will be accepted until August 31, 2009. Then one winning number will be generated randomly from the comment list. The gift card will be FedEx to winner(s) and if you retweet this out, as the more comments we have, more gift cards will be given out. Thank you and best of luck.

I have been to Roaring Fork and absolutely adore the pork chops and tortilla soup! Since it is a little bit pricey, I like to treat myself there for special occasions. If I won the gift card I would take my mother there when she comes to visit San Antonio next month and let her taste the deliciousness Roaring Fork has to offer!

My husband of two years and I will be moving back to the Austin area (he will be returning and I will be moving with) and we have yet to have an anniversary dinner. I would be honored to shower him with affection and dinner from the Roaring Fork as he has fond memories in the area. He deserves so much more. He is giving me the opportunity to pursue my dreams in cake design and, of course, gives me plenty of rope with it! Two words: Green. Chile.
In my experience, every dish that has these two words has been beyond good. All I have left to try is the Green Chile Mac & Cheese, which I am very much looking forward to. Roaring Fork is a great restaurant with a wait staff that goes above and beyond expectations!

I’ll give you an updated review of the Roaring Fork after I use the $25 gift card that I won at the Tweet-up this week (although I may be going to Wildfish depending on what my wife wishes) One of the keys to a stress-free life to is “give-in” on each and every one of the “little ones” (like “Where are we going for dinner tonight.”)

I’d love to treat my dad for his birthday, which is coming up in 2 weeks. He’s got plenty of material things so for special occasions, I like to give him gifts that let him spend more time with loved ones. He’s always been there for me as I was growing up and I feel like I could never find enough ways to say thank you. He’s an amazing dad.

I haven’t been any of the restaurants listed but I would love to try them! I’ve eaten at Brasserie Pavil numerous times and when I’m there I always mention to my boyf that we need to try the Eddie V restaurants next door!

I experienced the Roaring Fork in SA TX for the first time on my birthday and had a great time. Service was excellent waitress was very patient with us I have a slight hearing problem , atmosphere was lively , drinks were very refreshing and did not have to order “extra” drinks ( i also kinda have a high tolerance) the cedar plank salmon was scrumptious my only complant was that it was a Tuesday night and I could not stay until they closed. Also attending the establishment were many famous celebrities like Harrison Ford and wife, the lover of unicorns Nan Palmero and wife Ashley, Kim Kardashian and friend , market-analysis genius Ryan Kelly ,George Clooney and wife , Ms. Latina World Delisi Araceli,wine connoisseur professional Marc Fusco, Tom Cruise and wife Katie, Kyasbutt Muraira (Kim K better look out) and as far as other local celebrities Eva and Tony Parker ,Marc Oconnor, Erik Darmsetter ,Heidi Gerhardt and George Strait. I know I will be returning to the Roaring Fork because its a great place to eat drink and still be able to talk to someone with out yelling at them .

*Briefly though, I would love to win this because I LOVE to eat, I love the lamb chops at Roaring Fork, I’ve had a chance to eat at Wildfish, besides during happy hour (although that meat on a rock was wonderful!…), and this would give me a perfect excuse to visit the 3rd Eddie V’s restaurant when it opens at the Quarry!
